A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. Carnoat uses as few as it can. You choose which optional cookies you allow when you first visit, and you can change your choice at any time under "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
Essential cookies
These make Carnoat work and keep it secure. They are always on, because the site cannot work without them.
| Cookie | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
carnoat-session |

XSRF-TOKEN |

remember_web_* |
Keeps you signed in, only if you tick "Remember me" | 400 days |
carnoat_consent |

Analytics cookies (optional)
Only if you allow them. They tell us, without your name, how many people visit Carnoat and which pages they use, so we can improve it.
| Cookie | Provider | How long |
|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_* |
Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd.) | Up to 2 years |
We use Google Analytics with IP addresses shortened and without advertising features.
Stored in your browser
Besides cookies, Carnoat keeps a few small items in your browser's own storage. They never leave your device, and none of them tracks you.
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
carnoat.compare |
The cars you put side by side to compare |
carnoat:identity-method |
Which way of confirming it is you (passkey, code, password or Google) you used last |
carnoat.sample-car |
Which example car the homepage shows during this visit |
carnoat.app.* |
In the Carnoat app only: the lock with Face ID or a fingerprint, and the page to open |
Your choice
When you first visit, you choose "Accept all", "Essential only", or set each category yourself. We ask again after 180 days, or sooner if we start using a new kind of cookie. Withdrawing consent removes the analytics cookies we set.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser's settings; Carnoat will then ask you to sign in again.
