How are the results on the marketplace ordered?
On the marketplace, under Search, you see only the cars that fit every filter you set: make and model, years, price, mileage, a radius around a place, open or discreet, dealers only, well documented, gearbox, colour and options. A car that doesn't fit a filter is left out, not placed lower.
Within those cars, the order you choose applies, the same way to every car:
- Best match, the default: the best documented cars first, by their verification score, which counts only what documents prove. Between equal scores, the car offered most recently comes first. - Newest first: the cars offered most recently. - Price, low to high, or high to low. A car with its price on request comes last. - Mileage, low to high. A car without a mileage comes last. - Nearest first, once you have chosen a place: by distance to that place.
You change the order in the menu beside the results; on a phone it sits with the filters. "Why this order?" beside the results explains it in short.
A discreet car is compared on its ranges, never its exact figures: its price and mileage count from the start of their range, and its distance from the centre of its province, never its town. A private car never appears.
When you describe what you want in your own words, it becomes filters you can see and change, and the order works as above. A saved search, under Saved, shows its cars by how closely they fit: first those that meet everything you asked, then those that differ, each with a line saying where, for example a mileage above your limit. Something the owner hasn't stated counts for less than a real difference. If you asked for as few kilometres as possible, the lowest mileage comes first among equally close cars. Each car carries a label, "Strong match" or "Partial match", never a number. When no car on offer is the one you asked for, other cars are shown, each saying so first.
No car is placed higher because someone paid for it, neither by a private seller nor by a dealer. A paid open listing only lets a car be shown openly; it does not move it up.
